Laser Hair Removal

What is Medical Grade Laser Hair Removal?

Are you sick of shaving and waxing all the time? Do you suffer from ingrown hair, or are you just simply tiered of excess hair everywhere? Then Medical Grade laser hair removal is the option for you! At Promedic Laser & Skin your safety and comfort is our priority. All our accredited candela certified clinicians undergo continuous, extensive training and development to make sure we deliver consistency in all our treatments to the highest standards. At Promedic we only use medical-grade candela technology, the world’s most efficient hair reduction system available. Medical-grade laser is designed in an amazing and unique way and has the ability to target any part of the body on various skin types. Throughout the duration of the treatment, a unique feature cooling device is used to ensure maximum comfort for the client whilst also providing protection to the skin.

How does Medical Grade Laser differ from IPL?

When choosing which method is best, it is important that you are aware of the differences between IPL and Medical Grade Laser technology. Medical Grade Laser emits wavelengths of light which is absorbed by the pigment in the hair (melanin). If the surrounding skin is lighter when compared to the colour of the hair, the entire energy of the laser will be concentrated in the hair shaft resulting in effective destruction of the hair follicle without affecting the skin. On the contrary, ‘Beauty’ IPL laser machines are not monochromatic, meaning that IPL has many different colours and only a small percentage of the colours are effective in the treatment of hair reduction. Additionally, IPL produces various wavelengths which does not directly target the hair follicle and does not emit the adequate energy levels to successfully destroy the hair follicles.

How Does Medical Grade Laser Hair Removal Work?

It is very simple – a concentrated light is directed into the hair follicle which inhibits the growth of hair without damaging and destroying the surface of the skin. To ensure maximum results, extensive pre and post care is provided before and after your treatment. While every client is different, a comprehensive complimentary consultation is required for every client prior to their treatment. This allows our clinicians to provide the best possible treatment plan to ensure effective and efficient results. We recommend 6-12 treatments for best results. For darker skin types, a test patch is required prior to treatment.

Recommended Sessions at Promedic

Results vary significantly with each individual based on medical health history, skin type and general response. However, Promedic recommends a minimum of 6-12 sessions for effective results.

Cosmetic Injectables

Antiwrinkle injections

Anti-wrinkle injections provide a highly effective method of smoothing and plumping skin, and are one of the most widely performed cosmetic treatments today. They work by blocking signals between the nerves and muscles, preventing muscles from contracting and forming lines on the surface of the skin. The result is fast, effective and impressive control of frown lines, wrinkles and fine lines. Anti wrinkle injections are not a permanent solution, and further treatments are required periodically to maintain the effect.

At Promedic Laser & Skin antiwrinkle injections are used for a variety of concerns some of which include; antiaging (frown, forehead & Crows Feet), gummy smile, upper lip lines, bunny lines, lip flip, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), teeth grinding, jaw slimming.

When choosing an injectable, it’s vital to select a physician experienced in anti-wrinkle cosmetic injections to ensure the best possible results. At Promedic Laser & Skin our Cosmetic Nurses & Doctors are Medically trained to ensure the best possible results are obtained in a safe setting.

At Promedic Laser & Skin, every client is different. We develop a customized treatment plan for you! For this reason, we always encourage our clients to book in a Complimentary Consultation with our Cosmetic Nurse to ensure your treatment plan suits your needs & your goals are achieved.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are a powerful method for regaining a youthful complexion, minimising the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by creating volume in the inner layers of skin. Cosmetic fillers can be used to restore fullness to lips and cheeks with a natural-looking result, as well as providing volume in the chin, nose, jaw and hands. Dermal wrinkle fillers can be used like makeup to highlight certain features, and are also commonly used to treat darkness under the eyes. The process is carried out using the same substance that naturally provides skin’s fullness in our bodies with a long lasting effect. At Promedic we are experts in face contouring to achieve that healthy, youthful and natural aesthetic.

Dermal fillers restore some of that beautiful look of bursting vibrancy to even the most mature face. With skillful application, you’ll look just like yourself – only more positive, more alert, and all freshened up!

At Promedic, we use dermal fillers to artfully design the exact look that you want. They can often be used in conjunction with other treatments, in a cohesive treatment plan to wipe as much as 25 years off your appearance.

    Chemical Peels

    Peel away the years

The skin is the body’s largest living organ, it also happens to be the most exposed.

Every time we step outside, we expose our skin to harmful ultraviolet rays, changes in climate, pollutants and other elements that cause damage to the skin. Peels can significantly improve the appearance of skin imperfections such as, fine lines and wrinkles, irregular texture, dull and sallow skin hyperpigmentation and acne. Exfoliation of the skin is key to maintaining healthy functioning skin.

The skin naturally reproduces cells and brings new cells to the surface, however as we age this process slows down resulting in an abnormal build up of cells. A peel provides a deeper exfoliation of the outer most layer of the stratum corneum, which in turn stimulates both cellular turnover and the internal structure of the skin, to activate and energise fibroblasts and collagen synthesis. Exfoliation of the skin also allows for optimal penetration of subsequently applied active ingredients. The depth and results of the peel depends on the strength of the chemical agents used, the type of active ingredients incorporated into the peel, the skin type and the skill of the operator.

Superficial peeling agents cause an increased slough of the outer layers of the skin resulting in a mild to moderate peeling. The superficial peeling will result in skin renewal and assit with the reduction or disappearance of sun damage, pigmentation, acne lesions, fine lines and wrinkles Moderate and deeper peels cause removal of the top layer of the skin, inflammation and regeneration of the lower layers.
Promedic Laser & Skin offers a range of peels that provide a non-invasive procedure for clients seeking highly visible results and can be customised to provide the level of exfoliation required.

    Regular Professional Peels will:

    • Improve skin smoothness and vitality
    • Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
    • Assist with acne, congestion and blackheads
    • Promote firmer, younger looking skin
    • Stimulate cellular turnover and collagen production
    • Minimise the appearance of scarring, sun spots and freckles
    • Provide an overall benefit to face, neck, hands and feet

    Dermapen 4

A breakthrough that re-invents mircro needling. With the introduction of Dermapen’s predecessor’s in 2011, Microneedling was revolutionised with the first automated technology.

The launch of Dermapen 4 sets a new standard and benchmark that delivers the ultimate in advanced and innovative microneedling with unsurpassed confidence, service and outstanding patient results.
Over the past few years, millions of dollars have been allocated for research, development and modification that will reinvent microneedling as we know it. Today, Dermapen remains the most widely used micro needling system worldwide with over 1.6 Million clinical procedures performed.

Dermapen treatments designed to create a safe healing response within the body to ignite natural collagen and elastin production from within the skin, without harsh side effects and downtime, along with repairing the surface layers to result in healthier skin; looking brighter, tighter, more even toned, refined pores and reduced wrinkles.

Dermapen 4 is the only microneedling device with a dedicated scar setting and protocols for revision of deep, atrophic scars; including surgical, burn contracture, striae and post-acne scars.

Unlike some Laser treatments, Dermapen removes the risk of heat injury and hypopigmentation risks, whilst promoting optimised cell function. This makes it a suitable procedure for any patient affected by melasma and with a predisposition to hyperpigmentation. Treatment is also suitable on all Fitzpatrick Skin Types and ethnicities. Dermapen treatments have also been found to be effective on Hypopigmentation Vitiligo treatments. The Dermapen 4 can be used for a variety of skin concerns

    • Anti aging
    • Scarring
    • Pigmentation
    • Telangiectasia
    • seborrheic dermatitis

    • alopecia, and much more.

HIFU – High Intensity Focused Ultrasound

HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is the next generation in revolutionary non-surgical facial rejuvenation, providing deep penetration, real lasting results and no damage to the skin surface! The closest technology available to a true surgical face-lift without surgery. HIFU targets the SMAS which is the layer Cosmetic Surgeons work on during Plastic Surgery!

At Promedic, our HIFU specialists are precise, accurate & focused. This treatment requires specific attention to detail & an artistic eye. We use Australia’s fastest & effect HIFU systems that truly delivers results.

HIFU bypasses the skins surface whilst delivering a specific ultrasound energy at specific depths of the skin with specific temperature. By this process, this energy stimulates the collagen rebuilding process which ultimately leaves you with fresh new collagen and plump skin.

    Conditions treated

    • Sagging skin under the chin
    • Sagging Jowls
    • Turkey neck
    • Dropping side of the mouth
    • Lowered eyebrow line

Some patients see an initial effect right after their treatment, but the true results will progressively be apparent over 2−3 months as new collagen works to lift and tighten skin. The treatment produces new collagen within the skin, but your natural aging process and lifestyle factors will dictate how long that translates into visible results.

Some people may only need one treatment. However, based on the degree of skin laxity, the biological response to ultrasound energy and the individual’s collagen-building process, some clients benefit from having 3-4 treatments.

Maintenance treatments are required as the body’s natural aging process continues.

    Carbon Peels

The carbon peel, also known as the ‘Hollywood Peel’ and ‘China Doll Peel,’ is the latest in skin rejuvenation laser treatments that tightens pores, exfoliates skin, cleanses deep pores, kills acne bacteria, reduces fine pigmented hairs, improves fine lines and wrinkles, reduces blackheads and congestion, and reduces oil flow. It is well known for its porcelain doll like finish to the skin.

Its incredible results and subsequent fame are derived from the use of carbon. The black substance acts as a target for laser light, which is attracted to darker colours. When the carbon is applied and massaged into the face, it enters into the pores. Once hit by laser light, the carbon heats up and ‘explodes,’ removing built up dead skin and damaging the inner walls of the pore. The heat generated induces collagen growth, reducing pore size, and improving skin texture, which would otherwise not be possible without the use of carbon.

At Promedic, we use a Medical Grade Q-Switch laser, which shatters particles in the skin and is first used to ‘clean’ the skin prior to applying carbon. This opens the pores and allows for the carbon to enter.

    Laser Facials

The aging process can take its toll on the tone and texture of the skin, resulting in open pores and uneven skin with the appearance of fine lines. Laser Facials helps improvements in skin appearance through a series of non-invasive treatments.

Laser Facial is an effective treatment that helps treat a number of skin concerns, including skin texture and tone, wrinkles, acne, collagen production and some forms of pigmentation.

The energy produced by the laser penetrates into the skin deeply without injuring the top layer and stimulates the production of natural collagen and other vital proteins. Giving your skin added bounce and a healthy and youthful appearance.

    Pigmentation Plus - Blue Toning

The aging process can take its toll on the tone and texture of the skin, resulting in open pores and blotchy skin with the appearance of fine lines. Through laser toning treatments, patients experience gradual improvements in skin appearance through a series of non-invasive treatments.

Blue Toning mode on the IRIS Q-Switch Nd:YAG laser effectively cleanses deep pores and tightens pores, improving the texture, tone, clarity and quality of skin. It is a treatment available for all skin types and suitable on the neck, décolletage and hands.

IRIS’s unique Blue Toning mode rapid-fires 15 short pulses of energy per second to the skin. This results in subtle heating of the skin with greater safety and better precision for stubborn pigmentation. The technology allows for deeper penetration to achieve enhanced treatment results without sacrificing patient comfort.

    Tattoo Removal

For some, tattoos represent an impulsive decision that they later regret. For others, tattoos from their youth are simply no longer relevant to their lives or who they are today. Laser tattoo removal provides a solution for all.

Tattoos are permanent because the ink particles placed into the skin are too large for the body’s white blood cells to remove them. Lasers work by breaking these particles into tiny pieces, allowing for the body to remove them via its natural filtering system.

The size and location of the tattoo, the amount and type of ink used, and the depth of the ink in the skin will affect the clearance rate, and how many treatments are required.

Q-switched Nd:YAG lasers represent the gold standard for tattoo removal. With multiple wavelengths to choose from, your clinician can select the optimum wavelength that is most absorbed by a specific ink colour, customizing the treatment for each patient and each individual tattoo.

    Capillary Removal

Broken capillaries, also known as Telangiectasia and spider veins, are small congealed blood vessels measuring between 0.5 and 1mm in diameter. They occur through dilation of the blood vessels near the surface of the skin or through trauma. Telangiectasias can develop anywhere on the body but are commonly seen on the face around the nose, cheeks, and chin.

Telangiectasias are most commonly treated with vascular lasers. These devices are designed to emit light energy at a particular wavelength in order for optimal absorption in oxyhaemoglobin. The ability to trace isolated vessels for selective treatment, as opposed to large area surfaces such as with IPL, helps to achieve clinical results.

    Laser Pigment Removal

As we age, pigmentation concerns are more common. Pigmentation can be caused by a variety of internal and external factors. Skin pigmentation is a result of irregular production and deposition of melanin by the melanocytes. Melanocytes are cells that produce pigment. Production of melanin is dependent on sun exposure, and is a natural protective mechanism of the skin against UV. As much as 80% of UV damage occurs in childhood, not becoming apparent until years later, usually first appearing as mild freckling, becoming more severe with age.

Superficial pigmentation is restricted to the epidermis, while deeper pigmentation occurs in the dermis and often originates from chronic superficial pigmentation, making it difficult to treat. Laser and light platforms are available for effectively treating pigmented lesions and can be customized to the depth of the lesion and the unique concerns of the client.

Epidermal pigmented lesions such as freckles, age spots and sun spots are removed via Q-Switched Nd:YAG lasers. The extremely short pulse acts to ‘smash’ the excessive pigment into tiny pieces which is then removed by the body’s natural filtering system. What’s left behind is normal, healthy looking skin.

It is crucial when undertaking any pigmentation treatment to ensure your skin is prepared. Your Clinician will assess your skin & recommend a home care skin regieme that will help enhance the results of your treatment whilst protecting your skin.
